Sarin smiled and chuckled. This Dibbun was so cute. He hoped that Ioalus and Fenrir would stay on. They’d be the first felines to stay at the Abbey if Sarin’s memory served him well. Now, where were those naughty Dibbuns? He made a questioning sound whilst looking either side of the corridor. He then went downstairs, carrying the babe as he did so. When they were down the stairs he set the babe down. Suddenly Sarin heard an almighty roar, forcing Sarin to cover fenrir’s ears.
Abruptly, a couple of Dibbuns streaked past with a female badger storming behind them. However she stopped when she saw Sarin and Fenrir. Sarin gave her a sympathetic smile. Kiara smiled and knelt down, ruffling the babe’s hair.
“Hello, little one. How are you today? You like Sarin, don’t you?” she said warmly.

Fenrir smiled as he was picked up, his arms wrapping around Sarin's neck as they went. He looked around curiously as they went, trying to see the other Dibbuns. As they stopped, he hopped from Sarin's arms and looked around, yelping and ducking behind Sarin at the roar. He clutched at Sarin's robes, staring up at the Badger running towards them. She was almost as big as his daddy. He looked up and moved slowly out as she spoke to him, ruffling his fur. He smiled up at her and nodded shyly in response. He looked up at Sarin, then moved closer to Sarin, his tail tucked around himself as he stared at the large beast.

Fenrir was shy and a little scared mused Sarin. He chuckled and picked up the tiger cub. He didn’t think that Kiara and Fenrir had met before but like so many other Redwallers the Badger Mother had heard of the new arrivals in Mossflower and had been eager to meet them. However her duties had prevented her from seeing them. Sarin figured he should make sure that Fenrir wasn’t scared of Kiara.
“Not sure if you two have met yet. Fenrir, I’d like you to meet Kiara, she’s Redwall’s current Badger Mother. Kiara, this little one is Fenrir. Ioalus, his father, was the one who was passed our table the other day,” said Sarin. Kiara smiled and chuckled as she looked at Fenrir.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Fenrir. Hope we get to play together soon. I need to go, Sarin. Higgletruff and Mintsy are up to their tricks again, and they’ve managed to pull in Harmonica and Lorcan in too. Bye for now, little one.” And with that, the Badger Mother was off.

Fenrir squeaked a little as he was picked up and curled up in Sarin's arm, wrapping one arm around Sarin's neck as he looked up at Kiara, smiling a little as they were introduced. He waved a little in response. As the two talked, he stared up at her, awed by this creature almost as big as his dad. He'd never seen anything that big before. As she moved off, he watched her go, then squirmed a little until he hopped out of Sarin's arms and landed on the ground, looking up at the Squirrel.
"She's big!"
He grinned for a moment, then looked around as he caught his father's scent. Grinning, he took off running on all fours towards the gate, which had just started to open. As Ioalus was about to step through, he was knocked off balance by Fenrir leaping up into his arms, causing him to stumble back a bit as he laughed and held his son. Ioalus' normally gleaming white fur was slightly caked with dirt, especially on his chest and hands, but he didn't seem to care as he held his son, smiling as he kissed the boy's head. Stepping in, he smiled to Sarin and walked over.
"I see he managed to coax a smile from you after all."

Sarin smiled and chuckled at Fenrir’s comment. She was big, to him. Squirrels were usually up to the badger’s abdomen unless they were born prematurely and were likely be up to just beneath her waist. Sarin felt Fenrir squirming to get out of his grip and Sarin allowed him. It was just then that he saw Ioalus.
"I see he managed to coax a smile from you after all."
“Yes, he sure has. He’s such a delight. You are more than welcome to stay here, at the Abbey, my friend,” said Sarin. He was rather hoping that the snow leopard would stay. He would need to speak to Abbess Forsythia about this. Maybe she could persuade them to stay.

Ioalus smiled as he held his son, stroking the babe's fur as he looked down at Sarin. His smiled at the invitation and nodded, getting down on one knee and setting Fenrir down gently. The happy Dibbun growled playfully and started chasing insects in the grass as Ioalus looked on affectionately. He looked back to Sarin and smiled, holding his hand out for the squirrel to shake.
"I thought you'd never ask. Fenrir and I are both happy here. I couldn't imagine a better place for both of us."
He smiled and chuckled a little as he thought of something.
"Though I must admit, I never would have expected to be living with herbivores."
He smiled to Sarin. There was no scorn in the comment, he didn't think of herbivores as less than him. In fact, his clan had often traded with herbivores nearby.

Sarin smiled. That comment about how Ioalus would love to stay here. Abbess Forsythia would totally support them and help them adjust to the lifestyle. He then listened to the comment about the herbivores. Not completely understanding what his friend had meant by that Sarin just nodded and smiled.
“Abbess Forsythia would welcome you two with open arms I'm sure. Now, come on, I smell some good food! You’ll have to get used to herbivore food I'm afraid.”
Just then a Dibbun by the name Jugo, who was a mousebabe came and tugged at Sarin’s cloak.
“Mister Sarin, sir – Sister June needs your help with the poi..poi...poizons.”
Sarin nodded and smiled at the mousebabe who then looked at Fenrir before dashing off. Sarin said for Ioalus to see the Abbess and Kiara before dashing off too.

Ioalus smiled at Sarin's comment on Herbivore food and nodded a little, watching Fenrir as he chased a stray insect, trying to catch it in his paws. He looked over at Sarin with a small smile.
"I can live on fruits and vegetables, but I won't have the strength I'd otherwise have with meat. Eventually, if I am going to earn my keep, I will have to hunt."
He watched the little mouse as she told Sarin that someone needed his help with the poisons. He smiled softly at her as she looked at Fenrir, then scampered off. He chuckled a little, then looked over at Sarin as he told the Snow Leopard to go and talk to the Abbess and nodded a little, standing and picking his son up, turning to go find the Abbess.
